Geography

The village is located in the northeastern part of the Prokhladnensky district , on the right bank of the Lenin Canal. It is located 3 km south of the center of the rural settlement - Ulyanovskoye , 17 km north-east of the district center Prokhladny and 77 km from the city of Nalchik .

It borders with the lands of settlements: Ulyanovskoye in the north, Priblizhnaya in the south and Proletarskoye in the west

The settlement is located on an inclined Kabardian plain , in the flat zone of the republic. The average height in the village is 199 meters above sea level. The flat, slightly wavy plain has a gradual overall decline from northwest to southeast. In the vicinity of the village there are various hilly and kurgan heights.

There is no natural hydrographic network on the territory of the village and it is represented mainly by the main Lenin channel .

The territory of the municipality is located in the flat zone, in the transitional zone from chernozem to chestnut meadow soils. The soil-forming rock is loess loam. Soil cover over the entire area is almost uniform. On the security of mobile phosphorus belong to the group of low secured. The potassium content is high. The reaction of the soil solution is slightly alkaline. A pH of 7.6 - 7.9 is favorable for the growth and development of all agricultural crops of temperate zones.

The climate is temperate semi-arid. The average temperature in July reaches + 23.5 ° С. The average January temperature is around -2.5 ° C. In general, the average annual air temperature is + 10.5 ° С with an average annual precipitation of 530 mm. The main winds are east and northwest. In late summer, dry winds blowing from the Caspian Lowland are possible.

History

The village was founded in 1961 on the basis of the 1st grain harvesting farm “Primalkinsky”.

In 1962 the settlement was included in the newly formed Zernosovkhoz village council of the Prokhladnensky district.

In 1997, as a result of the downsizing of the Krasnoselsk rural administration, the village of Vinogradniy was transferred to the newly-formed Ulyanovsk rural administration .
