Geography
Located on the river Lomoyevka, 14 km from the district center and 75 km from the railway station Torbeevo.
History
Name-anthroponym: from pre-Christian Mordovian name Tsybai ( Tsybash ).
In the Chelobitnaya Mordva village Taratali Sukhaya Armaeva with goods, (1660), the name Kutsayko Tsybusheva is mentioned. In “The search of the land of the Mordovians of Temnikovsky district ” (1688), the villages of Staroye Tsibaevo and Tsibaevo are noted. In the “List of Populated Places of the Tambov Gubernia” (1866), Lesnoye Tsibaevo (Old Tsibaevo) is a state-owned village from 76 yards of Temnikovsky district.
According to the agricultural tax registration of 1930, there were 191 yards in Lesnoy Tsybaev (1,073 people)
