France at the 1957 Eurovision Song Contest took part for the second time. At the competition, she was represented by Paul Desjardins with the song “La belle amour”. This year, the country took second place with 17 points, 14 points behind the winner (6 from Germany , 4 from Luxembourg , 2 from Belgium , Denmark and the UK and only one point from the Netherlands ). The country gave 6 points to Germany , 4 points to the Netherlands .
