Biography

Anatoly Sinkov was born on April 23, 1916 in the village of Kozlovo (now the Spirovsky district of the Tver region ). After graduating from the Moscow Mechanical College, he worked at peat mining. He graduated from courses at the Kalinin Infantry School. Since October 1942 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .

By November 1944, Captain Anatoly Sinkov was the combatant deputy commander of the 361st separate machine gun and artillery battalion of the 159th fortified area of ​​the 40th Army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front . Distinguished himself during the liberation of Hungary . On November 2, 1944, the Sinkov battalion crossed the Tisza River southwest of the city of Kishvard and seized a bridgehead on its bank, after which it successfully retained and expanded it [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for “exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism”, Captain Anatoly Sinkov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal " Under the number 1995 [1] .

In 1946, with the rank of Major, Sinkov was sacked. He lived and worked in Kaliningrad . He died on July 29, 1986, was buried in Kaliningrad [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner , two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, orders of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, the Red Star and the Badge of Honor , along with a number of medals [1] .
