According to the grammar of Virgil , Flor was born in Africa and came to Rome in the reign of Domitian . During the poetic competition at the Capitol Games, Flor, despite the public's support, did not receive a prize, after which he became an itinerant sophist and visited Sicily , Crete , Cyclades, Rhodes and Egypt. Not finding a place in Rome, Flor settled in the Spanish Tarracon , where he founded a school and taught literature. Under Trajan, Flor returned to Rome, where everyone was already familiar with his poetry.
When the Roman expansion temporarily led to the stalemate, Flor determined this time in “Epithomas” as “inertia caesarum” - “inaction of the Caesars”. "Epithomas" as a convenient compendium of volumetric work Libya became very popular in late antiquity and in the Middle Ages .
