Biography

Vladimir Litvinov was born on May 25, 1911 in the village of Uspenskaya (now the Beloglinsky district of the Krasnodar Territory ). After finishing three classes of school, he worked on a collective farm . In 1941, Litvinov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since the beginning of World War II - on its fronts [1] .

By April 1945, Sgt. Volodymyr Litvinov was in command of the cavalry unit of the 7th Guards Cavalry Regiment of the 2nd Guards Cavalry Division of the 1st Guards Cavalry Corps of the 1st Ukrainian Front . He distinguished himself during the battles in Germany . On April 21, 1945, Litvinov’s branch was among the first to enter the city of Ortrand and took an active part in the battles on its streets. On April 24, 1945, it crossed the Elbe in the area of ​​the Zadel settlement 5 kilometers northeast of Meissen and captured the bridgehead on its shore, after which it was held until the main forces crossed [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated June 27, 1945, Sergeant Vladimir Litvinov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .

After the war was demobilized. He lived and worked at home [1] . He died on August 11, 1999, was buried in the Assumption [2] . The stanitsa children's park is named after him .

He was also awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and Glory of the 3rd degree, a number of medals [1] .
