Biography
Alexander Filosofov was born on November 3, 1924 in the village of Veski (now Pereslavl district of the Yaroslavl region ). After graduating from eight classes of school and accounting courses, he worked in his specialty. In August 1942, Philosophers was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1943 he graduated from the Novograd-Volyn Infantry School. From the same year - on the fronts of World War II. In battles, four times was wounded and two more times - shell-shocked [1] .
By August 1944, Lieutenant Alexander Filosofov commanded a platoon of anti-tank rifles of the 294th Infantry Regiment of the 184th Infantry Division of the 5th Army of the 3rd Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of the Lithuanian SSR . On August 7, 1944, Filosofov’s platoon participated in breaking through German defenses from the bridgehead on the western bank of the Neman in the Tupiki hamlet of the Shakiai region , destroying 3 enemy tanks and a large number of soldiers and officers. On August 15, 1944, during a battle near the village of Slabadai in the Vilkaviskis district, Filosofov replaced the out-of-command company commander and put her on the attack, knocking out the enemy from the positions he occupied, and then repelling all his counterattacks and breaking through the enemy’s defenses [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for “exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism”, Lieutenant Alexander Filosofov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " Under the number 6807 [1] .
He participated in the battles of the Soviet-Japanese war . After graduation, he continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1955, Filosofov graduated from the Shot courses, in 1968 - the Higher Academic Courses. In 1971, with the rank of colonel, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived and worked in Novograd-Volynsky . He died on August 28, 1984 [1] .
He was also awarded the orders of Alexander Nevsky , World War 1 and 2 degrees, the Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
