Route

For the first time since 2011, the same city, Ponferrada, hosted the start and finish.

As in the team race, the first part of the route went downhill, after which two smooth ascents 6 and 13 km long were overcome, respectively. The main irregularities were expected on the second part of the route: first a six-kilometer climb with a climb of 180 meters and a maximum of 8%, and then another climb of 2 km, with an average gradient of 5.5% and a maximum of 10%. The finish line of the race was located after a four-kilometer descent from the last hill.
