Biography

Born in the village of Bugry, now within the city of Novosibirsk , in a peasant family, Russian .

He graduated from a rural school. He worked on a collective farm . In the Red Army since July 1943, from the same time at the front.

Shooter of the 218th Guards Rifle Regiment ( 77th Guards Rifle Division , 61st Army , Central Front ) of the Guard Red Army soldier Shevelev on the night of September 27, 1943, as part of a company, was among the first to cross the Dnieper in the area of ​​the village of Nedanchichi ( Repkinsky district, Chernigovskaya area ), captured and held the line, ensuring the crossing of the river units of the regiment.

He died on January 14, 1944. He was buried in a mass grave in the village of Baikino, Sebezh district, Pskov region . The name of the Hero is immortalized at the Glory monument in Novosibirsk.
