Physical Properties
Niobium trisulfide forms monoclinic syngony crystals, cell parameters a = 0.494 nm, b = 0.674 nm, c = 1.81 nm, β = 97.5 °. In later works [1] , it was stated that the cell is quasimonoclinic, triclinic syngony , space group P 1 , cell parameters a = 0.4963 nm, b = 0.6730 nm, c = 0.9144 nm, α = 90 °, β = 97.17 °, γ = 90 ° and is formed by Nb 4+ (S 2 ) 2− S 2− molecules.
There are reports [2] that the crystal is even more complex and has a superstructure .
