The women's 400m final was held on August 15, 2014. Before the start of the championship, only one athlete from Europe had a result in a season of 51 seconds - Libania Grenot from Italy . She won the final, having managed to add on her advantage, earned due to a quick start. The time of the winner was not the fastest - 51.10. The current world champion Briton Christine Ohuruogu , who spent 2014 in a sparing mode without reaching super-high results, lost the fight for medals to Olga Zemlyak and Indira Terrero and remained only fourth with her best time of the season [3] .
