Mikhail Ivanovich Roslavlev ( May 1 [13], 1822 , Vyborg - August 6 [18], 1887 ) - lieutenant general of the Russian army , participant in the Caucasian , Crimean and Russian-Turkish wars (1877-1878) . Erivan Governor. Member of the Scientific Society of the Caucasus Department of the Imperial Russian Society for the Acclimatization of Animals and Plants [1] .

Biography

Of the hereditary nobles, the son of Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Vasilievich Roslavlev (1793 - after 1840), a participant in the war of 1812. Orthodox religion. Received home education [2] [3] .

On September 1 , 1839, a non-commissioned officer entered the service in the jaeger field marshal of Prince Kutuzov-Smolensky regiment . According to allegations of noble origin, by order of the regiment of October 1 of the same year, it was renamed cadet from the day he entered the service. On July 15 , 1844, for his long service, he was promoted to the first officer rank of ensign with the transfer to the Black Sea Linear No. 10 battalion. From January 8 , 1846 to August 29, 1847 he was in the position of battalion treasurer. March 22, 1848 was promoted to second lieutenant [2] [3] .

On April 26, 1848, due to the accumulation of highlanders near the fort of Navaginskogo , with a platoon of a grenadier company from Fort Bambor, he was sent there for reinforcement. He was in Navaginsky from May 2 to July 20 . During his stay there on May 26, he participated in repelling an attack by the Ubykhs on the front chain sent from the fort to cover the mine team, for installing galvanic mines. During that clash, he was wounded by a rifle bullet in his left shoulder (arm [2] ) on a fly with bone fragmentation. From May 26 to July 20 he was treated in the hospital of the fort. On May 20 [2] (or 22 [3] ), May 1849, he was appointed to be on special assignments under the ruler of Abkhazia, Adjutant General Prince M. G. Shervashidze . Held that position on November 1 , 1853 [2] [3] .

On January 26, 1850 he was promoted to lieutenant, and on January 30, 1853, he was promoted to headquarters captain. On November 1 of the same year, by order of the commander-in-chief of the Separate Caucasian Corps, the general from the infantry of Prince M.S. Vorontsov was appointed to be under the Kutaisi military governor, Major-General Prince A.I. Gagarin , and on December 22 he was appointed commander of the consolidated training company established at the 3rd Branch of the Black Sea coastline . He was in that position until April 8 , 1854, and on April 10 he was appointed company commander in the Black Sea battalion No. 10. From May 12 to November 17 , he was a senior adjutant in the headquarters of the troops under the commander of the Akhaltsykh and Gury detachments, Lieutenant General Prince I.M. Andronikov , who spoke out to pacify popular unrest in Akhaltsykh and rebellion in South Ossetia . The expedition itself ended "bloodlessly . " From December 1 , again - the company commander [2] [3] .

During the Crimean War, he fought in the Caucasian theater of operations . From March 27 to June 11 , 1854 he was in the Gury detachment under the command of Major General Prince I.K. Bagration-Mukhransky . He distinguished himself especially in the battle on the Cholok River on June 4 , for which he was promoted to captain by order of June 16 , 1855. Until December 1 of the same year, he held the position of senior adjutant, and on February 4 , 1856 he arrived at His Majesty’s Life Grenadier Regiment of Erivan , to which he was transferred by the highest order from April 11 , 1855 [4] [5] . On August 30, 1856 he was appointed company commander, and on September 10 , he was approved in that position [3] .

From October 4 , 1856 to April 1 , 1857 he served as junior headquarters officer in the 1st battalion, and on April 10 [3] (or May 23 [5] ) was seconded to the former headquarters of the Caucasian Grenadier Division (later renamed the headquarters of the troops Lezgi cordon line ) for the post of senior adjutant. In 1857, as part of the Lezghin detachment, under the command of Lieutenant General Baron I. A. Vrevsky, he participated in the so-called Lezgian expedition from April 10 to December 1 against the Dido Society in the south-west of Dagestan . In 1858, on an expedition from August 23 to September 1 , he went with the same detachment in the same direction. He distinguished himself on August 29 when, at the head of the vanguard of the expeditionary force, counterattacked the highlanders and defeated them in hand-to-hand combat, putting the enemy to flight [6] . On November 20, 1858, he was approved as senior adjutant of the headquarters of the troops of the Lezginsky cordon line, and on March 25, 1859, “for the difference in cases against the highlanders,” he was promoted to majors, leaving his post and being assigned to the army infantry [5] . In the same year, he participated in campaigns against the Highlanders as part of the same Lezgi detachment. Since November 27 - the duty headquarters officer of the headquarters of the troops of the Lezgi cordon line [3] .

Upon the abolition of the headquarters of the troops of the Lezginsky cordon line, by an order of May 25, 1860, he was appointed acting Tiflis parade ground major (assistant commandant), entered it on June 23 , and on September 26 was approved in that position. On June 6 , 1861, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel [7] , and on February 19 , 1863, he was promoted to colonel [8] . From October 6 , 1863, he was the acting Tiflis senior police chief, and on January 11 , 1864, he was approved in that position. For the activity and discretion in searching for a certain count of things and money stolen from the apartment of a real state adviser in the order on managing the Viceroy of the Caucasus dated July 18 , 1866, Roslavlev was especially thanked by His Highness Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich [3] .

On April 23, 1869 he was appointed Tiflis Vice-Governor, with the retention of military rank and army infantry. October 30, 1871 on the basis of the manifesto promoted to major general [9] . On June 30, 1873, Roslavlev was appointed governor of the Erivan province . At the beginning of June 1877, during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, he was appointed commander of all the forces of the Erivan province [10] . March 11 , 1880 [11] from the post of governor was promoted to lieutenant general with dismissal from service with a uniform [12] .

He died on August 6 , 1887 [13] .
