Galium balearicum

Galium balearicum (lat.) - a species of dicotyledonous plants of the genus Bed-Name ( Galium ) of the Marenov family ( Rubiaceae ). The species was first described by the Swiss botanist John Isaac Briquet in 1908 [2] .

The synonymous name is Galium rubrum subsp. balearicum ( briq. ) malag. [2] .

Distribution, description

Endemic of the Balearic Islands ( Spain ). It is found only on the island of Mallorca [3] , on the coastal and rocky parts of the Sierra de Tramontana mountains and the Llevant mosquitoes [4] .

Hemicryptophyte A small herb with whorled leaves. The whole plant in general has a reddish tint, the flowers are pink; its color noticeably differs from the rest of the genus Galium . It blooms in June-July [4] .

The number of chromosomes: 2n = 22 [5] .
