Geography
The village is located 2 km from the administrative center of the commune of the village of Chernikhov and 22 km from the administrative center of the voivodship of Krakow [2] .
The village consists of several parts that have their own names: Boer, Dul, Gora, Leteryika, Podskale, Podverke, Wyspa and Zaleng.
History
The first mention of the village is found in the writings of the Polish chronicler Jan Długosz . It is assumed that the first inhabitants of the village were French soldiers taken prisoner during the war of Poland against the Teutonic Order (1409–1411). In 1581, there were 8 households in Rococice. In the XIX century, near the village on the banks of the Vistula was a farm belonging to the gentry family of the Pototskys from Krzeszowitz. In 1885, the first elementary school was founded in the village, in which about 100 children studied.
Until 1935, Rusocice was the administrative center of the commune of the same name, which this year was abolished and transferred to the commune of Chernikhov.
On August 4, 1942, German troops staged a pacification campaign in the village, during which 14 people were arrested, after which they were sent to the Plashuv concentration camp in Krakow.
In the years 1975-1998, the village was part of the Kraków Voivodeship.
