Yang ( Chinese ит п , pinyin : Yánggǔ ) is a county in the Liaocheng city district of Shandong province ( PRC ). The name of the county was taken from the Yangutin Pavilion.

History
The county was allocated under the Sui Empire in 596 from Dongye County.
Pingyuan Province was formed in 1949, and the county became part of its Liaocheng Special Region (聊城 专区). In 1952, Pingyuan Province was disbanded, and the Liaocheng Special Region was transferred to Shandong. In 1958, the county was annexed to Shouzhan (寿张 县), but was recreated in 1961. In 1964, Shouzhan was disbanded, the southern part of its territory became part of Fanxian County , the northern part of Yanggu County. In 1967, the Liaocheng Special District was renamed the Liaocheng County (聊城 地区).
By a resolution of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China dated August 29, 1997, Liaocheng County and Liaocheng County were disbanded, and instead, Liaocheng City District was formed.
