Career
Andrey Kareev is a pupil of Novokuznetsk hockey. From 2003 to 2011 he played in junior tournaments for the Moscow Spartak . Four times (from 2007 to 2010), a hockey player in the red-white team took part in the final tournaments of the Russian championship among young men. In the match against the Polar Bears on September 6, 2012, Kareev first played in the Youth Hockey League for the Kuznetsk Bears and conceded a goal from Ilya Zinoviev [1] . September 24, 2012, Andrey Kareev, having repelled 23 throws of the opponent, played his first match in the MHL “to zero” (against the “ Snow Leopards ”) [2] . March 1, 2013 in a match with “ Oktan ” the goalkeeper gave an assist to Konstantin Shabunov [3] . In just 2 seasons spent in the MHL, the goalkeeper (taking into account the playoffs) played 61 matches, conceded 136 goals and managed to finish 4 games without goals conceded.
October 31, 2013 Kareyev first appeared on the ice in the match of the Higher Hockey League in the Ariad . At the 56th minute of the meeting against Kuban , the young goalkeeper replaced Yuri Lavretsky on the court and did not miss goals in the remaining time [4] .
On September 6, 2014, in a match against Sibir , Andrei Kareev made his debut for Metallurg in the Continental Hockey League . The goalkeeper entered the game in the starting lineup and, having missed 3 goals in the first period, gave way to Ilya Sorokin [5] .
December 24, 2016 Kareev transferred to Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik in exchange for Rafael Khakimov and monetary compensation [6] .
In June 2017, he became a player in HC Salavat Yulaev .
