Biography

In 1953 he graduated from the Faculty of Geology and Geography of Molotov University .

Since 1961 - candidate of geological and mineralogical sciences , since 1967 - doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences .

In 1961, he served as dean of the Faculty of Geology at Perm University. Then he created a laboratory for sedimentary minerals (LOPI) [2] , which conducted research on small valuable minerals ( diamond , gold , platinum , tin , zirconium , titanium , etc.) in the Urals , the Russian Plain , Ukraine , the Caucasus , Chukotka , and Central Asia. , Baltic states , Siberia , Karelia .

In 1970 - 1974 - again dean of the Faculty of Geology of PSU, in 1979 - 2006 he headed the department of prospecting and exploration of minerals.

Daughter - geologist O. B. Naumov (born 1962) [3] .

Scientific Achievements

For the first time, under the guidance of B. S. Lunev, a rare mineral silicon carbide ( moissanite ) was discovered in the Urals, the presence of diamonds at a great depth (200 m) was proved, impact (space) diamonds were established, a collection of heavy alluvium minerals from the territory of the former USSR was collected and studied. A method has been developed for assessing lateral variability by granulometry and heavy alluvium minerals. An MCM geological exploration unit has been created and a methodology for the search for small valuable minerals has been developed. B. S. Lunev - specialist in the integrated assessment of mineral raw materials.

He gives lectures on geomorphology, Quaternary geology, technogenic deposits, geology of placers, mining of excavations, conducts field practice on geo-mapping.

Editor of the inter-university scientific collection "Alluvium" (6 issues), organizer of a number of meetings.

Author of a number of books on geology, known throughout Russia: "Differentiation of sediments in modern alluvium" (1967), "Deposits of gravel, sand and clay of the Perm region" (1959, in collaboration with A. M. Kropachev), "Atlas of landforms "(2 volumes, 1998, 1999, in collaboration with O. B. Naumova; awarded the title of laureate of the prize named after G. A. Maximovich )," Small diamonds of the Urals "(1996, in collaboration with B. M. Osovetsky ).

Has several patents (see, for example, [1] .)
