From autobiography
“I accidentally got into checkers ... I studied at the Kemerovo school number 19. I was engaged in athletics. We somehow arrive with my friends for a training session, and our PE emergency instructor turns out to have some kind of drafts competition that day, but he didn’t gather anyone. There is nothing to do - set all his runners to defend the honor of the school in the intellectual confrontation. There weren’t enough boys, and I got a man’s board. And I beat everyone! ”
From reviews
in 1966, in the magazine "Checkers", master Igor Kacherov, on the results of the finals of the IX USSR Championship on Russian drafts among women in Chisinau, wrote: "Zoya Markacheva was a pleasant" opening "of the championship. Living in the distant Kemerovo, far from experienced masters and trainers, at the start she showed a very informative and sharp game, a good understanding of positions and combination situations. However, four defeats in a row (the result of malaise and fatigue) threw her back. Given this, as well as the lack of tournament experience, it can be assumed that the line of the country's strongest draftsmen was enriched by another talented athlete ” [1]
Family
In 1965, she married Vladimir Markachev. In 1966, the daughter of Svetlana was born.
