Geography
The city is located in the extreme south of Argentina, on the northeast coast of Tierra del Fuego , at the mouth of the Rio Grande River . One of the most southern cities in the world (south only Ushuaia , Tolyuin and several Chilean villages ).
The landscape around the city is a hilly plain, almost completely devoid of vegetation. Basically, plants are represented by meadows, trees are rare. This is due to the prevailing strong winds of the Southern Ocean and a semi-arid climate.
