Description

CHPP-1 is the second largest thermal power station in the Transbaikal after Gusinoozerskaya GRES and one of the largest enterprises of the Republic of Buryatia. The station operates on the wholesale electricity and capacity market, and also provides the railway, Soviet and October (western part) districts of the city of Ulan-Ude with thermal energy [2] .

The main fuel for the station is coal . The kindling fuel is fuel oil .

The installed electric capacity of the station at the end of 2013 was 148.77 MW, the thermal capacity of the station was 688 Gcal / h, including the capacity of turbine units - 583 Gcal / h [3] .

In 2013, the CHPP generated 442.8 million kWh of electric energy (or 8.2% of the total generation of Buryatia), the supply of thermal energy for the same period amounted to 1596.7 thousand Gcal [3] .

History

The decision to build a power station to supply power to the steam locomotive plant under construction in the city of Verkhneudinsk (now Ulan-Ude) was made in 1932. Construction began in 1934.

In 1936, the first 12 MW turbogenerator was commissioned.

In 1957, the CHP was transferred to the USSR Ministry of Energy and Electrification [4] .

In 1964, a 100 MW turbogenerator was commissioned - the largest in Transbaikalia at that time [4] .
