Sports career
She played for the Wawel Club (Krakow). Six-time absolute champion of Poland.
A real triumph of the athlete was her performance at the world championship in gymnastics in Swiss Basel (1950), where she won four gold and one bronze medals, becoming the champion on the beam, in the floor exercises, in the vault and in the absolute championship and taking third place on the uneven bars .
Four years later, at the World Championships in Rome (1954), she became a two-time bronze medalist: in the absolute championship and on the uneven bars. At the Summer Olympics in Melbourne (1956), she won a bronze medal in team exercises with the subject. In the absolute championship, she was the eighth at the Summer Games in Helsinki (1952) and the fourth in Melbourne (1956).
At the end of her sports career, she worked as a trainer in Poland and the United States. In addition, she was a judge in gymnastics competitions.
In 2004, as the most titled Polish gymnast, she was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. There she was awarded the Officer Cross of the Order of the Renaissance of Poland.
