History
At the end of the street, which ran behind the town hall and going to the banks of the Daugava , was the tower of Libekas (Sievu). In the XIII century, next to the tower was the courtyard of the Lübeck merchants. The foundation of the tower was excavated in 1949. From the small, quadrangular in terms of construction, only the cellar was preserved - once the first floor, the rest was demolished in the XVIII century after the end of the Northern War . [2]
Attractions
The decoration of the street was house number 3 (Rutenberg's house, architect Christoph Haberland ). The bulk of the development of the street died during the Second World War [3] .
At present, practically along its entire length, the street is internal to the Riga City Hall complex [4]
