History

Dyulafehervar), which received the name "Diocese of Transylvania" ( Transylvania was then part of the Kingdom of Hungary ).
After the First World War, Hungary lost significant territories in favor of its neighbors and the entire territory of the diocese became part of the Kingdom of Romania . In 1932, the diocese was renamed the diocese of Alba-Julia, but retained the status of a diocese of direct subordination. August 5, 1991 elevated to the status of archdiocese [1] .
