Located on the river. Sivini , 13 km from the regional center and the Kadoshkino railway station. Anthroponym name: the owners of this settlement were the Nagaevs Tatars , as reported in the “Atemar tithe of 1679-1680”. In the "List of Populated Places of the Penza Province" (1869), Nagaevo has a village of 96 households (785 people) in Insarsky Uyezd . In 1913, in Nagaev there were 193 yards (1,153 people); there was a church, a parish school, a distillery, a bakery, 2 fire engines, 5 windmills, 4 churns, 7 forges, 3 shops. In the 1930s the Rodina collective farm was formed, and since 1996 - the Nagaevsky agricultural production complex. In a modern village - a primary school, a library, a house of culture, a post office, a telephone exchange, a medical outpatient clinic with a pharmacy. The natives of the village are economic manager I.F. Aluyev, teacher B. A. Fenin, sculptor V. M. Potapov, diplomat K. A. Merkulov.
