In the 2000 NHL draft, he was selected in round 2 under the overall number 55 by the Ottawa Senators team.
On February 28, 2015, β Arizona Coyotes β exchanged Vermette for quarterback Claas Dahlbeck and chose the 2015 draft pick in the Chicago Blackhawks [1] in the first round, in which Vermette won the Stanley Cup.
In 2009, he married a childhood friend Karen. The couple have two daughters, Leon (June 2013) and Emilia (06.20.2015) [2] .
In the course of the season, 2018/19 decided to end his professional career as a hockey player, his last club was Anaheim Dax [3] .
