It is located on the Caspando stream, 20 km from the district center and 9 km from the Atma railway station. Anthroponym name: from the pre-Christian Mordovian name Rezovat . It was founded at the beginning of the 17th century. immigrants from the village of Staroe Rezatovo of the Zalesny camp of the Arzamas district. In 1859, peasants participated in a drinking riot .
