It is located on the Caspando stream, 20 km from the district center and 9 km from the Atma railway station. Anthroponym name: from the pre-Christian Mordovian name Rezovat . It was founded at the beginning of the 17th century. immigrants from the village of Staroe Rezatovo of the Zalesny camp of the Arzamas district. In 1859, peasants participated in a drinking riot . In the "List of Populated Places of the Nizhny Novgorod Province" (1863) Rezatovo - a state-owned village of 313 households (3,048 people) of Lukoyanovsky district ; there were 2 churches.
