History
After the experience with its first project Berserk Online, Byteks decided to switch to the game version, which can be run in any browser on any computer, not limited to the game client, while slightly changing the gameplay in the direction of simplification. The launch of the game took place on July 30, 2012, this date is considered the day of her birth. The launch was preceded by a closed beta test, to which about 100 players from Berserk Online were invited. At the time of launch, 196 cards of various rarities from the set “Gates of Worlds” were sold in the game. Over time, new sets and individual maps were introduced to them. On April 2, 2014, a new set consisting of more than 150 cards - “Black Wings” was released. On March 5, 30 frequent cards of the new set - “Secret of Dertah” were added to the game, after which 630 cards became in the game.
Also on October 9, 2012, the site of the English version of the game was launched. He almost repeats the original “Berserk: Rebirth”, but the releases of the new cards there are somewhat shifted in time.

Maps
The cards in Berserk: Revival, as in Berserk, are divided into five elements:
- Forests (design - green)
- Mountains (design - light blue)
- Bogs (design is dark green)
- Steppes (yellow decoration)
- Forces of Darkness (black design)
Also, there are Neutral cards that do not belong to any of the elements (design - gray).
The maps contain the following information:
- Card value (in crystals)
- Card type
- Initial number of lives
- Traffic reserve or “flight” sign
- The power of a simple blow (three numbers X-X-X)
- Card features (gaming text)
- Card rarity (in order of increasing rarity: a circle is a base release map, M is numerous, H is frequent, P is rare, crown is ultra-rare, star is promo card)
As a rule, the higher the rarity, the better the card's playing ability.
Start
After registration, the game will conduct a little training, talking about the basic rules and pointing out the main interface elements. Upon completion of training, the player is given the opportunity to choose a starter - a free set of 30 basic release cards. Starters exist four types: forests, steppes, mountains and swamps. Each starter is offered a choice of two game images, one for men and one for women.
Battle Basics
After the start of the battle, the server deals 15 random cards from 30 cards of the deck. You can either order a retake, or go to the squad arrangement. For each retake, one gold crystal is lost.
For a set of detachment there are 23 gold crystals and 22 silver. Every creature has its own value. Elite creatures are called for gold, privates - for silver. After recruiting a squad, you must arrange the cards in your half of the battlefield and start the battle. The battle takes place on a field the size of 5x6 cells. The task is to destroy all enemy creatures. For this purpose, both melee attacks (hand-to-hand), and long-range attacks (shots, discharges, throwing), and magic (you can close an enemy creature and injure it in certain of its actions, and take control and much, much more). Each creature occupies one cell, and most can move 1-2 cells per turn. Combining movement with the combat characteristics of the cards, players have to carefully consider the strategy of the battle and rely on options for several moves ahead. It is because of this feature that Berserk is often compared to chess . However, unlike the latter, in Berserk there is an element of chance in the form of a die roll by players during a battle or during the triggering of certain card features. This aspect does not allow to calculate everything in advance and makes diversity even in similar at first glance parties.
Variants of arena fights
The player has the opportunity to create a fight with a variety of ratios of crystals, ranging from 6 gold and 6 silver, to 40 gold and 40 silver. A squad set is given 5 minutes, for a move 1 minute, but it is possible to change these parameters. From the 1st to the 7th minute to set up the squad and from 30 seconds to 4 minutes per turn. The fight with the parameters of 23 gold crystals and 22 silver, 5 minutes per team set and 1 minute per move is called normal and is indicated by the letter “O” in the circle on the created call panel. Any fight with parameters different from these is called a fight with conditions and is marked with the letter "U" in the circle.
Economy
There are 2 types of currency in the game: imperials (denoted by a silver coin) and ounces (denoted by a gold coin). Ounces are bought for real money at the rate of 1 ruble = 1 ounce, imperials are earned directly in the game itself or by transfer from ounces at the rate of 1 ounce = 100 imperials. On ounce you can buy:
- Booster - a set of 7 cards in which 1 is either rare or ultra-rare (the chance of the loss of an ultra-rare card is 1 to 16);
- Displays - sets of 16, 32 or 48 boosters, in which there will be guaranteed 1, 2 and 3 ultra-rare cards, respectively;
- Decks - a set of cards, put together in a deck ready for play, or put together on some common basis;
- Rare and ultra-rare cards drop out in random cards at a price of 40 ounces and 325, respectively;
- Premium accounts for various terms, giving accelerated experience and ratings;
- Images;
- Pets Cthulhu or Mermaid;
- Promotional cards.
On the imperials bought:
- Basic Set Booster;
- Minibusters of various elements;
- Starters consisting of 30 cards of the “Gates of Worlds” set, including 2 rare cards;
- Frequent and numerous cards appearing on random cards, priced at 750 imperials;
- Postcards;
- Pets Dragon or Byaka and pet food.
Tournaments and multiplayer battles
In addition to 1 on 1 fights in the arena, you can participate in tournaments. There are 3 types of tournaments:
- Draft on one booster - price 40 ounces, 4 participants;
- Draft on 2 boosters - 70 ounces price, 4 participants;
- Constructed - price 1500 imperials, 8 participants.
In Draft type tournaments (single and double-busted), players unpack the booster, select one card from them and pass the remaining six to the table neighbor, receive their next 6 cards from the other neighbor, then choose one from them and pass on 5, and so on. e. Further, the tournament is held on the Olympic system , right through. The winner of the one-bow draft gets the prize “Free participation in the one-bow draft”, the runner-up is 20 talismans. The winner of the double-booster draft gets 70 ounces, the runner-up is 20 ounces.
In a Constructed tournament, players fight on pre-assembled decks (1 deck is selected for the entire tournament). There are no special restrictions on decks. The tournament is held in the same way according to the Olympic system. The winner receives 5,000 imperials and 5 talismans, the runner-up is 3,000 imperials and 3 talismans.
Clans
One of the most important aspects of the game is the Clan Wars. A player can join one of the already existing clans or create his own, after which he gets the right to fight other clans on the map of clan wars. It represents 100 cities connected by roads. Each city brings points and ounces to the clan that controls it, and it is for these cities that the battle takes place. Each clan that has cities on the map is given the opportunity to declare 2 attacks per day. Attacks can be announced only to the neighboring cities of the enemy, connected by a road with yours. Clans that do not have cities on the map can attack cities of other clans from special points called barbaric ones. After the announcement of the attack, the server indicates the time of the battle for the city, which is selected in the interval from 20 to 24 hours from the announcement of the attack.
The battle takes place as follows. 15 minutes before the start of the battle, a set of troops is announced and a special room opens, where only players of the fighting clans have access. At the moment the battle begins, the players break up in pairs and fight among themselves, with the result that the losers lose the opportunity to take part in this battle. When losing a player gets a cooldown equal to 24 hours. Cooldown is a recovery time during which a player cannot participate in Clan Wars. The battle continues until the release of all the players of one of the clans from this battle, after which a victory is awarded over the city and it goes under the control of the winning clan (or remains under control if the defenders won).
Clan wars are divided into eras - periods of 30 days, after which among the TOP-4 clans that have scored the maximum number of points, the prize pool is played. Then the card is “cleared”, all clan points are reset and the clans are seated on the map before the new era according to the principle defined by the administration. At the moment, the TOP-2 or 3 clans are starting a new era from the barbarians, and 10 clans following the results of the previous era are randomly placed on the map with 10 cities under control.
Pets
The game has the ability to acquire one or more pets. They need to be fed, and in return you can use their useful features. Dragons allow you to deal cards in exchange for imperials or exchange 5 cards for 1 random of the same rarity. Cthulhi, mermaids and bjaki reduce the cooldown time on clan wars, and the higher their level, the more time they take. The experience (and after it the level) of the pet increases when feeding, but not more than a unit per day. The player, on reaching the 5th level, is given an egg free of charge, from which a dragon hatches in a day. Its color depends on which starter the player chose at the very beginning of the game. The rest of the pets will be available in the store.
Game bonuses
In the game there are various game bonuses that allow you to receive cards or currency (both imperials and ounces) for free or with relatively small investments.
Entry Rewards
For daily entry into the game (even without performing any actions) give various game bonuses. Visiting the game every day, the player receives imperials, ounces, and occasional rare cards. The line consists of 28 days and after the completion of the cycle it starts anew, so that bonuses can be received an infinite number of times.
Table of rewards for visiting the game:
Daily quests
Every day the game gives different tasks, such as playing n battles, buying a booster or handing over cards to a dragon and much more. For each task given 400 imperials. For completing the entire set of 5 tasks, a map is given that is commensurate with the aggregate complexity of all tasks. For relatively easy tasks a random rare card is given, for complex ones - ultra-rare, for very complex and costly ones - a promotion card. Many experienced players have become adept at determining the rewards for a particular daily task and can, with a fairly high degree of probability, prompt beginners whether to fulfill it or save ounces for the future.
Talismans
For various game actions random talismans are given. Sets of 5 talismans can be exchanged for certain rare cards or imperials. The range of cards is constantly changing and growing. Talismans can be obtained:
- In tournaments
- For victory in battles
- For the purchase of something
- For completing quests (not to be confused with daily tasks)
- Through referral links

When certain conditions are met or certain achievements are achieved, the game offers to share it through social networks by posting news about what happened, for example, on your VKontakte wall. Following the link that the game will place there, you can get various bonuses. The type of bonuses depends on the achievement itself.

Quests
Each player is available to complete special tasks - quests, the progress of which is displayed in a personal profile. Each quest consists of 5 stages, while some of the quests are cyclical, that is, upon completion of all five stages, the countdown begins anew, so the reward can be obtained an infinite number of times. Quests affect various aspects of the game, such as: battles, purchases, interaction with pets, activity in tournaments and much more. For completing each stage of the quests, the player is given a medal, which is displayed in the profile and is visible to all other players.
The rewards for completing quests vary greatly, mostly a certain number of imperials, but there are also sets of talismans, postcards "chicken", and even promo cards, but in order to receive them, of course, you have to try hard.
Contests and Events
The administration of the game constantly holds new contests and promotions, among which ultra-rare and promotional cards are often played. The most frequent actions are of the form “go to the final of the draft n times and get a promotion card”. Here are just participation in the drafts often have to pay for real. Such promotions allow players to additionally get for playing a game of draft (which is the best way to increase the number of available cards) strong cards that will be of great help in the Clan Wars. Creative contests are also not uncommon, where you do not need to fight directly in the game itself. At such events, even a novice can get a valuable prize, since the quantity and quality of the cards, as well as the gaming experience, play almost no role. Absolutely any player can also propose an idea for the competition of the project administration and can be sure that he will be listened to and seriously considered his proposal. Many promotions that received high marks and attracted many players were offered and organized by the players themselves. An example of such a stock.
Game Features
The rules and maps in the game Berserk: Revival are based on the KCI Berserk , but there are also significant differences.
- “Sudden actions” are completely absent in the game (except the appointment of a defender), this has significantly reduced the time of fights, and the features of the cards based on the sudden actions in the desktop version of the game are changed to the closest options. As a rule, this is done in such a way that the tactical component and the interest from playing with these cards remain at the same level, but the understanding of the game process is considerably simplified.
- There are no maps that affect the squad recruitment phase. Cards that in the desktop version of the game had such opportunities changed to the closest ones, for example, the Soultrad area: some of the features from the desktop version of the game “City. When recruiting each member of a coven into a detachment, you spend 1 less ... "replaced by" City. At the beginning of the battle, call a coven member worth X or less from the deck, where X is the number of coven members in your party ... ”. Thus, his peculiarity is not played in the recruitment phase of the squad, but in the phase of the beginning of the battle, but the effect is almost the same. Such changes make it possible to speed up the recruitment of the squadron, avoid confusion and misunderstanding between the players and completely eliminate the various errors that may occur when counting crystals.
- Basic Edition. This is a separate rarity cards. Their distinguishing feature is a strong simplification of their features, for a better understanding of the basics of the game by beginners.
- Features of all cards are constantly monitored and, if necessary, changed. This allows you to maintain a balance between game assemblies, when none of the decks will have a clear superiority over all the others. Errats (changes in the characteristics of the cards) are posted before the introduction in the relevant topic, where everyone can comment on their feasibility and offer their own version, which may be better. Many errats at this stage are being revised and changed.
- Interactivity. The user has the opportunity to study each card in more detail by increasing it with the right mouse click. At the same time to the right of the map will appear the icon of the student's hat, clicking on which opens a window with tips on the features of this card. This function works both in the deck editing window and in battle, so even if a player has forgotten the description of a particular feature, he can look at it again for anyone.
