Smith's rabbit ( lat. Pronolagus rupestris ) is one of the representatives of the African genus Pronolagus of the family Leporidae . The Russian and English names are given in honor of the author of the first description of this species of E. Smith . It is found in Kenya , Malawi , Namibia , South Africa , Tanzania and Zambia .

DescriptionThe hair on the back of Smith's rabbit is painted in warm brown tones [1] , the ears are gray, the tail is dark brown [2] . The undercoat is soft and white. Claws and fingers are short. The total body length of 350-495 mm [1] .
Nutrition and habitatFood of this species, as a rule, includes forbs (for example, plant seedlings) [3] and cereals. Smith rabbits inhabit the rocky slopes and peaks of the rocky outcrops.
