Ship Description

A sailing battleship of rank 4 , the length of the vessel, according to various sources, ranged from 32.6 to 36 meters, breadth from 9.4 to 9.45 meters, and draft from 4 to 4.4 meters. The armament of the vessel at different times ranged from 44 to 50 guns [1] [2] .

Service History

The ship "Great Allen" was bought by F. S. Saltykov in 1714 in England and under the name "Britain" became part of the Baltic Fleet of Russia. June 19 ( 30 ), 1715 the ship came to Revel [1] [2] .

He took part in the Northern War . In 1715 and from 1718 to 1720 he went cruising to the Gulf of Finland as part of a squadron. At the same time, in July 1719, he covered the passage of the rowing fleet from Kronstadt to the Swedish coast, and in August 1720, as part of the detachment, he accompanied 4 Swedish frigates to Kronstadt, which were captured by rowing vessels in the battle of Grengam . In 1722 and 1727 he went on practical voyages to the Gulf of Finland. In 1726 he was in readiness in the Reval harbor [2] .

In 1728, the ship was converted to Pram [1] [2] .
