DAT (chemotherapy)

DAT in the context of chemotherapy is an acronym generally accepted in oncohematology for the name of one of the chemotherapy regimens used as an induction regimen in acute myeloid leukemia , especially in high-risk patients or those who are refractory to standard 7 + 3 induction chemotherapy, or who has a relapse of the disease .

DAT mode consists of:

  1. Daunorubicin - (D) aunorubicin - an anthracycline antibiotic that has the ability to intercalate DNA , thereby disrupting the process of cell division and preventing mitosis ;
  2. Cytarabine - (A) ra-C - antimetabolite ;
