Geography
The village is located in the northwestern part of the Prokhladnensky district , east of the administrative border of the CBD with the Stavropol Territory . It is located 27 km north-west of the district center Prokhladny and 75 km north-east of the city of Nalchik .
It borders on the lands of settlements: Progress in the east, Soldierskaya in the south, as well as the lands of the Kirov region of the Stavropol Territory in the west and north.
The village is located on the inclined Kabardian plain , in the flat zone of the republic. The average altitude in the village is 285 meters above sea level. The terrain is basically a weakly rugged territory with a general slope from west to east, without sharp fluctuations in relative heights. In the northwest, the plain drops sharply towards the Podkurok River. Numerous shallow elongated depressions directed from east to west give the plain a slightly wavy surface. In addition, there are numerous mound hills.
The hydrographic network is represented mainly by the Podkurok River, flowing west of the village. The main channel of Malka-Kura passes through the center of the village, and the right-bank channel stretches in the north. Obstructed lakes are located east of the village.
The climate is temperate. The average annual air temperature is positive and amounts to about + 10.5 ° С. The average air temperature in July reaches + 23.0 ° C. The average January temperature is about -2.5 ° C. The average annual rainfall is about 550 mm. At the end of summer dry winds blowing from the Caspian lowland are possible.
History
Zarechnoye village was founded in 1965 on the basis of the 1st branch of the Primalkinsky grain farm.
From 1970 to 1992 , the village was the administrative center of the Zarechny village council. Then transferred to the transformed Krasnoselsky rural administration .
Since December 1997, the village is the administrative center of the newly restored municipality.
