Biography

Frantisek Schmard was born on May 29, 1902 in the city of Trebic . Until 1920, he studied at the Czech real school Brno, in 1921 he graduated from the Teacher Institute of Brno .

From 1921 to 1923, Schmard taught at a school in Oslavan , in 1923-1926 in Zhibetin, and the following year in Adamov. From 1927 to 1955 he worked at a school in Kursim. From 1945 to 1950 he studied at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Masaryk University , in 1950 received a doctorate.

After 1955, Schmard worked for seven years at the Geobotanical Laboratory of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in Brno. In 1962-1968 he was an employee of the Botanical Institute of the Academy of Sciences.

On April 24, 1976, Frantisek Schmard passed away.

Schmard was a member of several scientific societies of Czechoslovakia: the Czechoslovak Botanical Society, the Mycological Club in Brno, the Czechoslovak Scientific Society of Mycology and others.
