On June 22, 1942, corps units from Stalingrad went down to the Bryansk front and on June 24, 1942 unloaded in Voronezh . The corps command arrived here from Moscow - the commander of the major general of the tank forces N.V. Feklenko , the regimental commissar commissar V.Gulyaev , the chief of staff Colonel B.S. B. Bakharov and the staff of the headquarters. 28.06.1942, the corps was transferred to the Bryansk Front [1] .

Battle Path
The Stavka directive No. 170462 of 06/25/1942 is included in the Bryansk Front.
On June 28, 1942, he was transferred to the Kastornaya area to deliver a counterattack against a broken German grouping.
The directive of the Supreme Command Rate No. 1035010 of 06/28/1942 is included in the Bryansk Front (a second decision ???)
On June 30, 1942, 31 ISBRs were attacked by units of the “Great Germany” (“Grossdeutschland”) division. As a result of the battle, the motorized infantry, together with the approaching 102nd Tbr of the 4th TK, knocked out and destroyed 17 enemy tanks. 67 tbr, thrown to the aid of the 31st MSBR and moving without reconnaissance, unexpectedly collided with German tanks. As a result of an hour-long battle, 67 tbr lost 20 combat vehicles shot down and burned down and retreated.
On the morning of July 1, 1942, 174 tbr went on the attack, but the 66th tbr that was not supported, as envisaged by the plan, was forced to fight with superior enemy forces. As a result of this, as well as four large air strikes on the combat formations of the 174th TBR, it lost 23 T-34 tanks and was forced to withdraw. After the departure of the 174th Tbr, the Germans, pulling up their forces, attacked the village of Kulevka, where the 66th Tbr was located. As a result of an 11-hour battle, this brigade was surrounded and retired.
With the German occupation of Kulevka, the corpus was cut into two parts: the right (66th tbr and 115th otbr and 116th otbr 40th A) and left (remnants of the 31st msbr, 67th tbr, 147th tbr and the 102nd tbr of the 1st tk). The connection of the corps headquarters with the left group was lost. A real threat of breakthrough of the German units to Voronezh through Nizhnedevitsk was created
July 2, 1942 In the morning the Germans attacked Gorshnechnoye , where parts of the left group were defending themselves and surrounded them. However, in the evening the brigades managed to escape from the ring, suffering heavy losses.
July 3, 1942 In the morning the German tanks occupied Nizhnedevitsk . The remnants of the 66th tbr, without artillery and air support, could not detain the enemy. At about 20.00, the Germans with an unexpected attack crushed parts of the corps (by this time there were only 38 combat-ready tanks in the corps - 10 KV-1, 11 T-34 and 17 T-60) and went to the ferry across the Don at Verkhne-Turovo. Here they were able to hold a battery of anti-tank guns of the 31st ISBR and a platoon of T-34 tanks for 3 hours.
July 4, 1942 All day the remnants of the corps were restrained by the advancing German units, and at night by order of the command they crossed over to the other side of the Don .
In just four days of fighting, the losses of the 17th shopping mall were 1,661. killed, wounded and missing. 23 KV-1, 62 T-34, 47 T-60, 23 guns, 22 mortars and 14 machine guns.
On July 7, 1942, the Supreme Command Directive No. 170466 of 07/07/1942 the Bryansk Front was divided into the Bryansk and Voronezh Front, and the corps was incorporated into the Voronezh Front.
October 1, 1942 Directive of the Supreme Command Rate No. 994214 of 10/01/1942, the corps is removed from the Voronezh Front to the Reserve of the Supreme Command Headquarters in the Tatishchevo area.
On December 19, 1942, the Supreme Command Directive No. 170711 of December 18, 1942, the 6th A, together with the corps, was transferred from the Voronezh Front to the South-Western Front.
In July 1945, the 4th Guards Tank Corps was transformed into the 4th Guards Tank Division .
