Olsha ( Polish. Olsza ) is a former village, currently one of the historical and geographical areas of Krakow , which is part of the administrative urban areas of Grzegorzka and Prondnik Bialy .
The area is located northeast of the Old Town along the streets of Olszyna and Pilots. The Bialukha River flows through the area. In the south, Olsha borders on the Osedle-Ofitserske residential complex on the line bordering the area with Grokhovsky Street and the Belukha River. In the west, Olsha borders on the Saddle-Warsawske street of Gdansk and the Prondnik River. In the north, Olsha borders on the saddle Olsha II line of streets Malyavsky, Heroes of Vietnam and Mlynskaya. In the east, the district borders Pszon’s saddle, and Halupnik Street separates Olsha from Szlichna’s saddle.
Olsu is crossed by the PLK-100 railway line (Krakow-Mydlniki - Gai), which is intended for freight trains bypassing the center of Krakow
History
The first historical references to the village of Olsha date back to the 17th century. At that time, Olsha was a small settlement , part of the village of Prondnik-Chervona, and its territory was limited to the modern streets of Kanonerov, Penkna, Ptasya and Sokolovsky. In subsequent centuries, Olsha was formed near the Potocki estate . The modern development of the area was formed after the Second World War.
