Now the existing station building was built around 1900 , but the railway station was built earlier, in August 1843, together with the railway line to Berlin , when the city of Szczecin ( German Stettin , Stettin) was part of the Kingdom of Prussia . Because the station was then the starting point of the line to Berlin, departure was only possible in one direction. When the second line was built in 1846 (from Szczecin to Stargard Szczecinski ), it was necessary to carve a 100-meter tunnel in the slope.
