Sugii Gisaburo ( Sugii Gisaburo я 井 サ ブ ブ ー, 井 井 儀 гии Sugii Gisaburo , August 20, 1940 ) was a well-known anime director who worked at Mushi Production and Group TAC . [2] [3]

Content
Biography
Sugii at age 16 dropped out of school. [8] At 18, he was hired by Toei Doga , where he worked as an animator from 1958 to 1961. [8] [9] He became a close friend of Osamu Tezuka , and when the latter quit to create his own company, Mushi Production , he called Sugiya for himself. [10] He moved to Mushi Production, where he became a key animator and director. [8] [10] Subsequently worked as an independent director, and for Mushi (in particular, he was the animation controller in the last anime studio Kanashimi no Belladonna ). [10] [11] In 1969 became one of the founders of the Studio Group TAC . [8] There he directed his most famous anime, including Jack in Wonderland . [10] From 1985 he worked independently. [eight]
In the 1980s, he became known as a master of drama because of such works as Glass Mask and Touch . [12] Sugii received international recognition in the 1990s for the full-length and tele-adaptation of Street Fighter II . [12]
