Alexei Ivanovich Kandinsky ( February 24, 1918 , Moscow - October 4, 2000 , Moscow ) is a Soviet and Russian musicologist , teacher , author of numerous works on the history of Russian music [1] . Professor of the Moscow Conservatory . Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1969).

Biography
Born in the family of a doctor.
He studied at the Music College. M. M. Ippolitov-Ivanov (1935-1939).
Member of World War II.
After graduating from the Moscow Conservatory and Graduate School in 1950 (1950), from 1950 he taught at the Conservatory - head of the Department of the History of Music of the Peoples of the USSR (1960-1991), professor since 1974. He specialized in the history of Russian music of the 19th - early 20th centuries.
He was buried in Moscow at the Danilovsky cemetery [2] .
