Biography
He studied at the Faculty of History of Perm University . During his studies he actively collaborated in the Perm University newspaper. He graduated from the university in 1964, immediately becoming a graduate student of the famous historian L. E. Kertman . For about two years he studied here, constantly writing and consulting with the largest Egyptologist M. E. Mathieu .
Since Egyptology , which was fascinated by E. A, Bogoslovsky, was outside the sphere of scientific interests of L. E. Kertman , he entered the post-graduate school of the State Hermitage Museum , where B. B. Piotrovsky became his supervisor.
Since 1968 - Researcher of the Leningrad Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies [2] .
In 1968 he defended his thesis ("The servants of Pharaohs, gods and individuals"), in 1986 - his doctoral thesis "Ancient Egyptian masters (based on materials from Deir el-Medina)."
He specialized in the social and economic history of Egypt during the New Kingdom . He was one of the world's largest experts on monuments from the Theban necropolis in Deir el-Medina .
St. Petersburg Egyptology Readings 2011 were devoted to the memory of E. S. Bogoslovsky; he is also devoted to a collection containing materials of these readings [3] .
