Vasily Antonovich Nikitin ( May 2, 1931 - January 28, 2010 ) - organizer of agricultural production, Hero of Socialist Labor (1971).

Biography
Born of the year in the village of Old Yanashevo, Yalchik district (Chuvashia).
He graduated from the Chuvash Agricultural Institute. In 1955-1968 he worked as a livestock specialist, chief livestock specialist, deputy chairman of the Guardsman collective farm of Batyrevsky district . From 1968 to 1973 he was chairman of the Guardsman collective farm.
For great services to the development of collective farm production in 1971 he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.
From October 13, 1973 to June 17, 1990, the first secretary of the Batyrevsky district committee of the CPSU.
Awards and titles
He was awarded the Orders of Lenin (twice), the Red Banner of Labor, Friendship of Peoples, VDNH medals - two Large Silver and one Small Silver Medal.
Honored Livestock Specialist of the RSFSR (1967) and the Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1962).
