History
The detachment was formed in July 1941. The first commander of the detachment was Dusan Erkovich (People’s Hero of Yugoslavia), political instructor - Milinko Kusic (also People’s Hero of Yugoslavia). The detachment was a delegate from the Serbian Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, Professor Milan Miyalkovich (also the People's Hero of Yugoslavia). The detachment began its combat operations by capturing and undermining enemy vehicles: its Zlatibor and Uzhitsky companies on the Visegrad - Uzhitsa road, as well as the Pozhegsky and Arilsky companies on the Pozhega - Arile - Ivanitsa road were especially distinguished: their sabotage and ambush complicated the supply of German troops.
The Uzhitsky detachment organized ambushes against enemy transport and armored convoys repeatedly: on August 28, 1941, an ambush near Virovo forced the Germans to flee to Požega . In August 1941, the ambush was also successful in Subiel , when during the daytime battle the Germans were forced to call even aviation. On September 20, 1941 near Godovik, a convoy of German troops was completely destroyed, and few managed to get to Pozega, and the partisans did not stop pursuing the enemy. Also on the account of the Uzhitsky detachment and attacks on the cities: on August 28, 1941 , the town of Arile was liberated, on September 22, Uzhichka-Pozhega was taken, on September 25 the whole Uzhitsky district was liberated, which led to the formation of the partisan Uzhitsky republic , and the Supreme Headquarters of the NOAU moved to Uzice .
The real glory of the detachment was brought by its Worker Battalion, which Kadinyachi held on November 29, 1941 : despite the fact that almost all the personnel of the battalion fell in battle, this gave time to the NOAA Supreme Headquarters to evacuate from Uzice and thereby preserve the backbone of the partisan movement. The battalion was awarded the Order of the People's Hero of Yugoslavia on September 19, 1979 , and even earlier, in 1951 , it received the Gold Star of the Order for Merit to the People.
On March 1, 1942, the Uzhitsky partisan detachment joined the 2nd proletarian shock brigade.
