Career

The first major success for Duet Droganya came in 2000 at the European Championships in Shortwater Swimming , where he won a bronze medal at a distance of 4 × 50 m in the combined relay. The following year, the Croat won the bronze medal at the 100 m freestyle at the European Short Championship .

In 2002, at the European Championships, he took third place in the 100 m freestyle competition.

On the second in the career of the Olympics , traversed in Athens in 2004, Dragania showed a time of 21.94 and won a silver medal, giving the American Gary Hall, Jr. just one hundredth of a second at a distance of 50 m in free style. At the World Short Championship in December of the same year, the athlete finished third in the 50 m butterfly stroke.

In 2005, at the World Championships in Montreal, Croat won the silver medal in his favorite discipline - 50 m freestyle.

In 2006, the athlete became the world champion in short water, showing the best time at a distance of 50 m in free style, and also won the silver (50 m butterfly) and bronze medals (50 m free style) at the European Championship .

At the European Championship in short water in 2007, held in Debrecen, Dragana showed the second time in the 50 m freestyle.

In 2008, at the World Short Championships in Manchester, the athlete for the second time in his career became the champion in the 50 m freestyle discipline, and he won the bronze medal in the 100 m distance. At the 2008 European Championships in Eindhoven, Holland, Dragananya won two more silver medals (50 m free style, 4 × 100 m combined relay race). At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, the Croat was unsuccessful. Only in one of the three distances in which he participated, the Croat closed the top ten. And from the European Championship in short water, he took a bronze medal with his favorite discipline.

The 2009 European Championship in short water brought the athlete three medals: gold - 100 m combined style, and two silver - 50 m free style and the same distance as part of the Croatian relay.
