History

In 1913, on the initiative of the working Verkhneudinsky railway depot G. I. Kamynin, the all-class cooperative society “Economy” was organized. In 1921, the manager of the cooperative was G.I. Kamynin.

City consumer societies "Economy" opened in Troitskosavsk , Mysovsk , Barguzin and Petrovsk-Zavodsk .

By 1917, Ekonomiya owned a network of shops and stores in Verkhneudinsk and its suburbs. Agencies were opened abroad: in Maimachen and Urga (Mongolia), in Tianjin , Harbin and Shanghai (China). The cooperative conducted cultural and educational work. On August 6, 1918, the partnership opened an outpatient clinic for its members [1] .

In January 1914, in Verkhneudinsk, on the initiative of the Consumer Society, at the congress of cooperators of Western Transbaikalia, the Pribaikalsk Commercial and Industrial Partnership of Cooperatives ( Pribaikalsoyuz ), a cooperative management body, was created.

During the First World War, at the shops of the Verkhneudinsky Society of Consumers “Economy” (on Bazarnaya Square in the house of the heirs of Frolov and on the corner of Kyakhtinsky and Zheleznodorozhny Streets in the house of Belov), the city's essential goods warehouse was opened. Their sale was carried out at the procurement value with an accrual of not more than 5% to reimburse the company “Savings” expenses for the hiring of employees, premises, drying, shaking of products. The city government allocated a room for warehouses for free.

At the end of 1916, the cooperative opened a bakery, later acquired a groats mill, a leather-chrome, soap factory, sawmill, a cutting area in the village of Ganzurino , a canning factory in Posolsky , a dairy farm and a pig farm in Verkhneudinsk. In 1916, the cooperative opened its own sausage production with the goal of "improving quality and price." Cooperative sausage went on sale in February 1917. “This immediately reduced prices in private shops by 20 kopecks. from the pound. Soon, private producers will be forced to improve the quality after the cooperative ” [2] .

At the end of 1918, an underground committee of the RCP (b) was created in Verkhneudinsk. The committee consisted of G.I. Kamynin. In “Economy” an underground cell of the Bolsheviks was created. The underground work was attended by: member of the cooperative G. G. Kamynin, chairman of the cooperative L. Nepomnyashchy, members of the board Petrov, M. Monoilenko, N. Isakson, workers N. Stolbov, Kalinichenko, P. Kychakov and others. In the confectionery factory Yakushenkov, Luba Malvina, Yankova [3] .

In 1923, "Savings" was transformed into the Unified Consumer Society.

Community Activities

Verkhneudinskaya "Economy" transferred all profits from outsiders to the cultural fund - to create a People’s House, and then in favor of the proposed People’s University of Eastern Siberia [4] .

In 1920-1922, "Economy" and the Baikal Union supported the work of the Baikal People's University (PNU) FER [5] .

Partnership Bonds

In 1921, "Savings" issued settlement marks ( bonds ) with a face value of 5 cents to 10 rubles. On some in the center there was a round seal with the inscription "RSFSR Ganzurinsky factories" [6] .
