Biography
His full name is Abul-Hasan Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Jafar ibn Najih ibn Bakr ibn Saad as-Saadi al-Basri al-Madini ( Arabic . Was born in 778 in Basra ( Iraq ), but his family was originally from the city of Medina , which is why he received the al-Madini nisba . He studied the science of hadith from his father, Hammad ibn Zeid, Sufyan ibn Uyayna and many others. Hadiths were transmitted from him: Ahmad ibn Hanbal , Abu Bakr al-Sagani, Muhammad al-Bukhari , Abu Hatim ar-Razi , Abu Daud , Abul-Qasim al-Bagawi and others. According to Abu Hatim, Ahmad ibn Hanbal respected Ibn al-al Madini, who never called him by name, but addressed by kunya [2] .
Ali ibn al-Madini died in the year 234 of the Hijra ( 848 ) in the city of Samarra (Iraq) [3] .
