Biography
Aleksey Ivanovich Kireev was born on March 8, 1908 in the resettlement village of Novo-Alekseevsky [1] in the family of a railway worker. Russian . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1930 [2] . He graduated from 7 classes of secondary school. He worked on the railway in the city of Mariinsk, Siberian Krai , now in the Kemerovo region .
Prewar period
In 1929 he was called up for military service in the ranks of the Red Army [2] . Participated in the conflict on the Chinese Eastern Railway from October 12 to December 22, 1929. He was wounded twice. In 1932 he graduated from the border school of the middle commanding staff of the OGPU , after which in 1933 he was sent to the Borisoglebsk military aviation school of pilots . After graduating from Borisoglebsk military aviation school of pilots , he was sent for further service in Ukraine , where he served in the 1st aviation detachment of the OGPU ( NKVD ) consistently holding the following positions: pilot , senior pilot, flight commander. In 1939 he moved to the Red Army Air Force , served as an instructor pilot in a military school of pilots.
During World War II
On the fronts of the Great Patriotic War from February 6, 1942 [2] . He flew U-2 , R-5 , I-4 ( ANT-5 ) [2] , IL-2 aircraft . Passed all the steps from the flight commander to the commander of the 809th assault aviation regiment .
By July 17, 1942, the commander of the 1st Squadron of the 708th Aviation Regiment, Senior Lieutenant A.I. Kireev had a total raid of about 2,000 hours, of which 1,800 hours were during the day and 200 hours during the night, completed 96 sorties, of which 23 - at night, fulfilled the task of the command to rescue the crew of the SB bomber, who had lost orientation and landed in the enemy's rear due to the development of fuel. In difficult meteorological conditions, Senior Lieutenant A.I. Kireev discovered the aircraft, performed the landing, carried fuel, a compressed air cylinder and the crew. Bomber SB safely returned to its airport. For the assignments of command and 28 combat missions to the enemy rear, landing on partisan airfields, Senior Lieutenant A. Kireev on April 11, 1942 was presented to his first award - the Order of the Red Banner [2] .
After the withdrawal of the 708th Light Bomber Aviation Regiment to the rear and its disbandment, it was sent to retrain the new aircraft - IL-2 . After graduating from retraining, he was assigned to the position of deputy commander-navigator of the 235th attack aviation regiment of the 264th Kiev Red Banner Assault Aviation Division of the 5th attack aviation corps . At the end of 1943 he was transferred to the position of navigator of the 809th assault aviation regiment of the 264th Kiev Red Banner Assault Aviation Division of the 5th Assault Aviation Corps.
In August 1944, he was appointed commander of the 809th Assault Aviation Regiment. By November 1944, Lieutenant Colonel A.I. Kireev made 131 combat sorties for bombardment and attack of manpower and equipment of the enemy, 28 of which were sorties with a landing in the enemy rear. At the same time, 16 tanks, 41 vehicles, 6 mortar points, 2 airplanes, 4 ammunition depots, 10 fortified units and bunkers were destroyed and damaged.

After the war
After the war, continued service in the Air Force . Commanded an aviation regiment. Since 1955, Colonel A. I. Kireev has been in reserve. He lived in the city of Morshansk, Tambov region . He died on March 4, 1957. Buried in the city of Samara .
