Biography

Abalo, who was born in Villagarcia de Arosa in the province of Pontevedra, moved to the local club “ Celta ” in the last year of playing in the youth team, then went to “ Celta B ”, who was playing at that time in Segunda B. On December 3, 2006, he made his debut as part of the main team in an official match, replacing in the last minutes in the away match against Mallorca [2] , which ended in a draw 2: 2. At the end of 2009, he extended his contract with the Galician until 2013 with a buyback amount of 10 million euros [3] .

From 2008 to 2011, Abalo was an important part of the Celta core team in Segund . However, in the 2011/12 season , after the club returned to the top division after 5 years, he played in only four games, subsequently going on loan to Gimnastic [4] and the Portuguese Beira Mar [5] .

On June 26, 2013, the Bulgarian champion Ludogorets announced the acquisition of Abalo immediately after he became a free agent [6] . The transfer was arranged the next day, after the player went through a physical examination and signed a two-year contract [7] , having received a T-shirt with 17th number [8] .

Abalo made his new team debut on July 17 in a away match of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League against the Slovak Slovan from Bratislava, which ended in a 1: 2 defeat. In the championship of Bulgaria, he made his debut three days later in the match against Lyubimets , in which his team was also defeated with a score of 0: 1. July 24, having scored a double in the second leg against Slovan in the Champions League, Abalo contributed to the victory of Ludogorets 3-0 and the team went to the next round [9] .
