Club career

 
Halsti as part of Malmö

Halstee began his career playing for the youth squad of the Vikingkit Second Division Club. In 2003, he signed a contract with the team of the top division of the championship of Finland HIK . In the debut season, Marcus became the champion of Finland and won the national tangle . In 2005, he was seriously injured and missed the rest of the season. The following season, Halsti won the Finland Cup for the second time. In 2007, he broke his leg and was recovering for a very long time. At the end of the contract, Marcus signed a contract with the Swedish GAIS , but without playing a single match, he ended up in Malmö .

Due to the effects of a knee injury, Halsti could not play in Sweden for a long time. On April 11, 2010, in the match against Kalmar , he scored his first goal in the Alsvenskan League [1] . In the same match, he was injured and remained out of the game until the end of the season. Despite this, Marcus became the champion of Sweden. In 2011 and 2012, Halsti could not win the competition due to permanent injuries. In 2013, he became the team’s main football player and was transferred to the defense center. January 12, 2015 signed a contract with the American club " DC United " [2] . Due to a knee injury in the last week of the preseason camp, he missed the first two months of the 2015 season and made his debut in MLS on May 17 in a match against Philadelphia Union [3] .

In the summer of 2016, Halsti moved to the Danish club Midtjylland . On July 18, 2016, in his match against the Randers , he made his debut in the Danish Super League [4] . In the summer of 2018, Marcus signed a contract with Esbjerg . On July 15, in his match against Norschelland , he made his debut for a new team [5] .

International Career

On February 2, 2008, in a friendly match against the Polish national team, Halsti made his debut for the Finnish national team [6] .
