History
According to the Lists of Populated Places of the Russian Empire in 1872, Chertanovo Manor belonged to the 2nd camp of the Galich district of the Kostroma province . It included 4 yards , there lived 13 men and 16 women. [2]
According to the 1897 census , 38 people lived in the village of Chertanovo (16 men and 22 women), and 2 people (1 man and 1 woman) lived in the Chertanovo estate . [3]
According to the List of Populated Places of the Kostroma Governorate in 1907, the village and the Chertanovo estate belonged to the Svinyinsk volost of the Galich district of the Kostroma province . According to the volost administration for 1907, there were 8 peasant households and 34 inhabitants in the village, and 1 yard and 7 inhabitants in the estate. The main occupations of the villagers, in addition to farming, were painting and carpentry. [3]
