Underground worker, lawyer, deputy
He graduated from the Law Faculty of the Jagiellonian University . In the last years of its existence, the Polish People's Republic was engaged in private law practice and consulting. Adhered to radical anti - communist views. Since 1982, he was in the underground Confederation of independent Poland (he joined KPN during martial law ). Prevented by state security [1] .
In the Third Rzecz Pospolita, Miroslav Lewandowski took up public policy. In 1991 he was elected deputy of the Diet from KPN. He was a member of the parliamentary privatization committee. He criticized the economic policies of the governments of Beletsky and Sukhotskaya for compromises with the former PUWP nomenclature. He advocated the expansion of parliamentary powers, tighter control of the Sejm over personnel appointments in the executive branch.
On December 6, 1991, on behalf of the KPN deputy club , Miroslav Lewandowski made a proposal to bring to justice the imposition of martial law on the former members of the Military Council of National Salvation and the State Council of Poland [2] . The project was supported by many members of the Sejm, but consideration was delayed and the decision was not made before the expiration of the legislature. Subsequently, the relevant lawsuit was initiated by the Institute of National Remembrance .

In 1993, Lewandowski was unable to obtain re-election to the Sejm. After the electoral failure, he distanced himself from politics, but continued active public activities.
Together with Matthew Gavlikovski, he publishes a series of historical studies ROPCiO i KPN w Krakowie on the struggle of the Krakow opposition underground against the communist regime. The second volume of this series was awarded the status of "Historical Book of the Year" in 2012 [3] .
Levandovsky actively protested against advertising the film “ The People Against Larry Flynt, ” filed lawsuits for insulting religious feelings.
Since 2008, Miroslav Lewandowski has been editing Forum POLONUS , the online publication created for the 30th anniversary of the founding of KPN. In 2009, together with Gavlikovsky, he published the book Prześladowani, wyszydzani, zapomniani ... - Persecuted, mocked, forgotten ...
September 22, 2010 Miroslav Lewandowski was awarded the medal Niezłomnym w Słowie (“Unbending in the word”) - for defending freedom of speech in the 1980s [4] .
