The first books were written in the spirit of industrial realism. Without pathos, but invariably with romance, Sh. Khaziahmetov described the everyday life of pipeline builders, workers and engineers with whom he himself worked in the most distant corners of the country. Later, writers are increasingly interested in topics of complex psychological riddles, relationships, fiction and mystical realism. The last essay novel “Mr. Literator” is ironic and autobiographical, full of philosophical thoughts about the history of the country and the native land.

Actively engaged in journalism and publishing, he headed the newspaper "Evening Ufa" publishing house "Bashknigoizdat", "Word" and "Skiff". He made translations of works by Bashkir authors into Russian.
