Biography
Augustine Broann was born on December 2, 1824 in the city of Paris , the daughter of Augustine Susanne Brohan ( fr. Augustine-Suzanne Brohan ; 1807-1887), who was once famous in theatrical circles; the elder sister of Madeleine-Ethel Broann (1833-1900), who also devoted her life to " serving Melpomene ."
She visited the Paris Conservatory and, already at the age of fourteen, made her debut on the stage of Comedie Francaise in " Tartufe " and in " Rivaux d'eux-mêmes " [3] .
Grace and liveliness ensured her success, so she was immediately engaged for a content of 3,000 francs. Soon, Brogan became the darling of the Parisian public, especially in the roles of sub-acts in the comedies of Moliere . She was one of the members of Comedy Francaise until 1868, when she left the stage [3] .
Later, Augustine Broann tried her hand in the field of dramatic literature; according to the ESB , “ not without success ” [3] .
Augustine Broan died in 1893 in her hometown.
